Bitter Melon, also known as Bitter Gourd and Karela, has been traditionally used to support normal blood sugar levels. It contains Gurmarin, a polypeptide that has been shown in experimental studies to achieve its regulating effect by suppressing the neural response to sweet taste stimuli. Bitter Melon is also a natural source of Vitamin C.

These capsules are made from the leaf of the bitter melon plant, whereas similar bitter melon products come from the bitter melon fruit.† The U.S. Department of Agriculture has determined that the bitter melon leaf contains higher levels of nutrients than the fruit.
