Syntol Synbiotic
Probiotic originates from the Greek, meaning for life, and is
medically referred to as a group of friendly bacteria or microflora.
Trillions of bacteria and other microbes inhabit our digestive tract
making it possible to digest food, absorb nutrients, and fight off
infections and diseases. The human digestive tract carries over 400
distinct microorganisms. The number of microorganisms in the body far
exceeds the number of tissue cells, making up nearly four pounds of
body weight.
Syntol contains three billion Colony Forming Units (CFU) of various
non-competing strains of bacteria. Syntol is a combination of
probiotics and prebiotics, more commonly referred to and classified as
synbiotics. Prebiotics are non-digestible food ingredients that
stimulate the growth and activity of the probiotics. These prebiotics
create the essential environments for probiotics as well as our own
indigenous bacteria to flourish. Syntol uses Fructo-Oligosaccharides
(FOS) as a prebiotic. FOS is completely resistant to bodily digestion,
passing safely through the stomach and small intestine where it can
then stimulate the growth of probiotics and Bifidobacterium in the
large intestine.
One of the probiotic bacterial strains is the potent spore forming L.
sporogenes. Probiotic spores are dormant life forms that protect the
bacteria from acidic conditions as well as extreme heat and cold. These
spores then attach themselves to the inside of the intestinal mucosa
and begin to germinate, forming probiotic bacteria. Spore germination
technology is an extremely dependable means for delivering probiotics
in less than ideal conditions. Most bacteria are susceptible to any
acidic pH range, mainly thriving in the more alkaline lower GI.
However, spores are able to withstand a broader range of variables in
regards to pH and temperature ranges. Syntol also facilitates an
extremely oxygenated environment providing the perfect conditions for
indigenous bacterial growth.
